Inside the editor

The tools you need after the first draft.

Get the wording right. Make the numbers clear. Bring the slides into the same format. Work on your HTML deck directly, with familiar editing controls.

Text & layout

Make the edits yourself.

Fix a heading, rewrite a sentence, or move an image. Work directly on the presentation without another prompt for every small change.

  • Change fonts, sizes, colours, and emphasis
  • Move, resize, and align objects
Charts

Edit chart data directly.

Add a chart, edit its data, and choose how it looks. Use toggles and filters to let your audience explore different views of the numbers.

  • Edit data and formatting in the chart menu
  • Keep chart interactions when you present
Tables & shapes

Put the details on the slide.

Build a comparison table, highlight a result, or add a shape and label. Format the content where it sits in your deck.

  • Format cells, text, and fills
  • Add arrows, shapes, and images
Slide masters

Keep the deck consistent.

Start a new deck from a slide master, or apply one to a Decktly slide deck, and reuse its layouts, colours, and fonts. Add slides without starting the formatting from scratch.

  • Start a deck from a master or apply one
  • Reuse layouts, colours, and fonts
Comments

Leave feedback on the deck.

Add a comment beside the text or chart you want to discuss. Comments and replies stay inside the HTML file, alongside the work.

  • Keep feedback attached to the content
  • Reopen the file in Decktly to continue the review
Present & share

Present the same file.

Switch from editing to a full-screen presentation. Save as HTML and open it in a browser, with the deck’s interactive elements still available. The desktop app can also export PDF or PowerPoint.

  • Present directly from the editor
  • Export PDF and PPTX from the desktop app

Working with an existing HTML deck? The available controls depend on how it was built. Create charts in Decktly to edit their data and formatting with the chart tools.

From draft to finished deck

Start with the HTML you already have.

  1. Open an HTML deck

Start with a presentation from Claude, ChatGPT, or another tool. Or create a new deck in Decktly.

  2. Change what you need

Edit the wording, adjust the layout, and add your charts, tables, or comments directly on the deck.

  3. Save and present

Your file stays HTML. Present it in Decktly or open the saved deck in a browser before sharing.

Questions

Before you open your first deck.

What is Decktly?

Decktly is a free HTML presentation editor. Edit text and layouts, add charts and tables, use slide masters, leave comments, and present. The desktop app runs on Windows and Apple Silicon Macs and can export PDF and PowerPoint. Your saved presentation stays HTML.

Can I edit a deck made with Claude or ChatGPT?

Yes. Open the HTML file in Decktly and edit it directly. Available controls depend on how the file was built; complex layouts or custom scripts may still need code or AI assistance. You do not need to connect an AI account for manual editing.

Will every chart in an imported HTML deck be editable?

No. Imported charts can be images or use custom code. To make sure you can edit chart data and formatting with Decktly’s chart tools, create the charts in Decktly.

Can I try it without installing anything?

Yes. In the browser you can open, edit, and comment without an account. Saving needs an account and only works in desktop Chrome or Edge. AI features, export, and the file explorer are in the desktop app, which runs on Windows and Apple Silicon Macs.

Where are my files and comments stored?

Manual editing happens locally and does not upload your deck to Decktly. Comments and replies are stored inside the HTML file. They are not shown in normal browser viewing, but remain in the file, so review them before sharing externally. Optional AI features send content to your selected provider.

Can I use AI inside Decktly?

Yes. The desktop app can connect to Claude or Codex using your own subscription. Ask for help with the open deck, then make further edits yourself. AI is optional; text editing, charts, tables, comments, and presenting do not require it.

Open a deck. Make your first edit.
